The BRNC Years!
Recipient of the Captains Award for Excellence
Between 2014 and 2017 Colin was conductor at the Britain Royal Naval College in Dartmouth Devon, a Royal Naval training base for young officers. The Captains citation (above) gives you a brief history of this and under his baton he worked with a 35 piece plus strong Military Concert Band, an 18 piece 'big' band, 28 piece plus Marching Band and a "Corps of Drums". He recalls this time as one of the best in his career working with ex-Royal Marine musicians, trainee Officers alongside advanced amateurs providing a musical environment to compliment the work of the college. During this time he worked with a variety of RN & RM ranks and officers and was pleased to call them all friends and RN family. Many works were written for the BRNC Bands from marches to concert pieces including CofD drum display routines and some civilian members have now gone on to successful careers in the Royal Marine Band Service.
